Hello

My name is Katrīna Avota and I am an artist from Riga.

Art has always been a part of my life – I come from a family of artists, and I spent my childhood among canvases and paints. It was clear that my professional life would also be connected to creativity. I started studying interior design, but quickly realized it wasn't quite what interested me! Over time, I became fascinated with the art of tattooing, which is now my main profession!

Tattooing requires a huge amount of energy – both physically and emotionally. That's why five years ago I started looking for a way to balance myself, and that was the moment when I began to paint actively. I became captivated by abstract painting.

Abstract art is unique in that it gives the opportunity to express oneself without limitations. There are no strict rules or boundaries that would hinder creativity. The artist can freely choose colors, shapes, and techniques to express their thoughts and feelings. Freedom is one of the main elements of abstract art, allowing the viewer to interpret the artwork in their own way.

Painting became my meditation, my freedom, and my refuge. I work intuitively – letting myself go with the process, not conforming to standards, and simply allowing the art to emerge on its own.
